Low Carb Coffee Chocolate Protein Frappe

Low Carb Coffee Chocolate Protein Frappe tastes fantastic if you are after a coffee injection, especially on a warm day. The perfect coffee frappe, dine in or take away. There’s no need to go down to the local cafe or Starbucks to order a sugar laden Coffee Frappe that’s going to make you feel guilty, when you can easily make your own healthy version, sugar free at home. If you think you need more coffee in it just add an extra shot of espresso or teaspoon of instant coffee. This drink is ideal also as for after a workout or for when you simply need a hit of caffeine to help you get through the day

PROTEIN POWDER

A delicious icy blend of coffee, cacao powder and vanilla protein powder, blitzed together with ice, to make a creamy low carb and low sugar frappe that is absolutely perfect for when you need a cold coffee hit. Adding protein powder is optional but it goes really well in this frappe. It is also a bonus if you need some extra protein in your diet. You can omit it if you wish to but equally, you can increase the amount of protein if you want to. If you omit the protein powder, you will probably want to use a creamier base rather than just water, such as coconut cream, coconut cream or almond milk.

Make sure that if you add protein powder, that it is low carb. One of my favorite low carb brands to use is Gold Standard which I buy from iHerb but you can get it from many other places as well. Gold Standard make a couple of different vanilla flavors, and I have tried them all. All of them have tasted great. There is also a brand called Isopure, that is also a great option as well. Both of these come in a vanilla flavor, which is what I recommend for this frappe recipe.
