A classic cocktail, this delicious Low Carb Blood Mary Cocktail is not missing out on flavor simply because it doesn’t have any sugar in it. You definitely aren’t going to miss the sugar in this recipe because it is so full of flavor. Try to source a low carb and sugar free tomato juice to use in this recipe, which can be a hard thing to do. Feel free to create your own fresh juice as well. If you do have a juicer, I would add some celery to the tomato as well for a lovely flavor boost.

I have made this recipe using a can of sugar free tinned tomatoes and blitzing them until smooth. I then added water to thin the juice down and it worked really well. That would be my preference over buying a sugar laden juice. If ever you find the tomato taste a little bit too overwhelming in this cocktail, you can simply add some soda water to it to lighten it up. Some times I love a Bloody Mary full of flavor but at other times I am happy to lighten the flavor a little.

This refreshing recipe for a sugar free Low Carb Bloody Mary is absolutely perfect for a long breakfast or brunch. Feel free to spice it up with extra chili if you like it hot. If you are catering for a crowd with this recipe and make a jug to share, I would leave the tobasco sauce out and let people add their own, to cater for all tastes.

Ingredients

  • 120 ml 4 oz sugar free tomato juice
  • 60 ml /2 oz vodka
  • 1/2 teaspoon horseradish paste
  • A squeeze of lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt- optional
  • Ground black pepper and salt to taste
  • Tobasco sauce to taste
  • A few drops of Worcestershire sauce- optional
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together and pour into a tall glass over ice.
  • Garnish with a celery stick and your choice of parsley, pickle, olives, lemon wedges, peppers, whole chili or jalapenos.
  • Optional- freshen and lighten the flavor with a top up of soda water.
