Sugar Free Coffee Liquor

Low Carb Tiramisu Pots

Sugar Free Coffee Liquor

This recipe is the key to many wonderful recipes that require the addition of a Sugar Free Coffee Liquor. It’s basically the low carb version of Kahlua, and it means that you get to make wonderful recipes such as Low Carb Tiramisu Pots, Affagato and you can even indulge on a Low Carb Espresso Martini.

This recipe takes just minutes to make and it will store for a long time, which makes it worthwhile. Use this coffee liquor to make the Tiramisu Pots and trust me, you will make them again, so it is worthwhile making up the whole amount specified in the recipe, which is only about 15 oz or 1 and 3/4 cups. I keep mine in an old port bottle in the liquor cabinet, stopped with a cork and it keeps really well. Occasionally you can get a bit of crystallization happening with the sweetener, but it is nothing to be concerned about. It is simply what can occur when you use certain sweeteners.

Instructions

  • Mix the vanilla extract, coffee and sweetener with the water in a small saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer until the sweetener dissolves before removing from the heat.
  • Allow the water mixture to cool down before adding the vodka. Pour into a glass jar and store in a dark cool place.

Recipe Notes

Please take note of the type of sweetener specified in the recipe as a stevia erythritol blend is a lot sweeter than just using erythritol or xylitol. Note also that you can vary the amount of sweetener used but please taste the finished mixture before adding any additional sweetener.

I’ve just made this so I can make the Espresso Martinis you mentioned. Thank you for sharing.

  2. The instructions don’t mention when you are supposed to add the coffee into the recipe?
