Low Carb Peruvian Pisco Sour Cocktail

This recipe for a sugar free, Low Carb Peruvian Pisco Sour Cocktail is absolutely divine. Fresh lemon juice combined with the Peruvian spirit Pisco and egg white is combined with some low carb simple syrup, to create a refreshing, frothy, lemon cocktail delight. Absolutely perfect for a girls night in, a cocktail party or a themed South American party.

There is a bit of competition over who makes the best Pisco Sour with the Columbian’s and the Peruvian’s both claiming victory. This particular recipe is based on the Peruvian version. I first tried this in a South American restaurant in Melbourne where we went for dinner and absolutely loved it. I decided to try to make my own but must admit I did struggle a bit to find a bottle of Pisco. A lot of bottle shops don’t sell it. I ended up finding it on ebay at one of the online liquor stores, so it all worked out well. You may have to do the same if you can’t find a bottle.

Now this is an amazing way to use up any of your left over egg whites. I Simply freeze any leftover egg whites in lots of 2 and defrost them when it’s time for one of these delicious cocktails- well 2 actually because I have 2 egg whites…what a shame. That is how it rolls with these Low Carb Peruvian Pisco Sours!

Pisco Sour

  • 60 ml /2 oz Pisco
  • 30 ml /1 oz lemon juice
  • 30 ml /1 oz low carb simple syrup or a few drops of liquid stevia
  • 1 egg white


  • Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker for 30 seconds.
  • Top up the shaker with ice.
  • Shake till icy and strain into a cold glass.
  • Garnish with a sprinkling of Angostura bitters

Low Carb Simple Syrup

  • Boil 1 cup of water with 1/4 cup powdered stevia or suitable amount of alternative sweetener for 5 minutes
  • Store in a sterile glass jar in the fridge for up to 2 months
