Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts

Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts

Recipes like this one for Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Balsamic can serve to change your opinion on food likes and dislikes. As a child, I remember struggling to eat soggy, overcooked brussel sprouts,. which resulted in me never buying them for my own family, as I hated them. This recipe will make you realise that brussel sprouts can taste amazing. Thanks to recipes like this one, I now cook brussel sprouts all of the time. Many more like me have changed their opinion on eating sprouts as well, so maybe it’s time you tried them again.

Fresh vs Dried

I have used onion and garlic powder in this recipe, as using them fresh in such a hot oven can cause them to brown too much and dominate the flavor of the dish. Feel free to try fresh ingredients if you would prefer. I also like to make these quite crunchy. If you would prefer them cooked a little less, simply reduce the cooking time to suit. You could also reduce the oven temperature slightly.

Sugar in Balsamic Vinegar

This recipe contains balsamic vinegar, which a lot of low carb and Keto advocates don’t like to use because it contains sugar. I use it sparingly in my cooking and find that by the time you divide the amount of balsamic used by the number of serves, it ends up being not very much sugar or carbs per serve. If you wan’t to omit it or reduce the amount that is used then please do so. The balsamic vinegar adds a delicious slightly caramelized flavor to the dish and is a real highlight of the recipe.

More Delicious Brussel Sprout Recipes

Another lovely brussel sprout recipe that I recommend you try is is Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Onion. Very different to this recipe, as it has the addition of bacon, however the sprouts are oven roasted as well, which is my absolute favorite way to cook and eat brussel sprouts.

Trust me…. you need to try this recipe.
